The IPv6 Observatory, the GEN6 project and the European Commission are jointly organizing an IPv6@Gov Workshop dedicated to the policy dialogue on the IPv6 deployment in European Union Member States.
Taking into account economic and social challenges linked to the Future Internet services suistanibility, the Commission wishes to upgrade the level of the policy dialogue on IPv6 integration by inviting policy and business communities to provide an overview of the best the national strategies in order to develop a set of concrete policy measures on the question.
The objective of the workshop is to bring together policy makers and stakeholders operating in the IPv6 domain in order to elaborate the argumentation to foster IPv6 deployment at the EU level. Two specific objectives of the workshop will focus on:
- National strategies of the IPv6 deployment
- Policy measures to speed up the deployment of IPv6 in the European Unionand to foster the position of the European IPv6 industry
Save the date! The event will be held on the European Commission premises on the 23rd and 24th of January 2013. Participation is free but registration is mandatory.
Format
Day 1 will be dedicated to the state-of-the art of the IPV6 Integration at international level on the basis of findings and achievements of the IPv6 Observatory and GEN6 project.
Day 2 will be a round table aiming to foster policy dialogue on the IPv6 strategy harmonization at European level and to define the political argumentations to support the IPv6 deployment in the Members states.
