Update: Liu Dong (BII), partner of the IPv6 Observatory study, comments this information.

“It’s been tough to promote IPv6 deployment in the past 10 years. But something changes this year. In China, China Telecom was the only IPv6 promoter who deployed several beta offices. This year, however, not only China Telecom, but also China Mobile and China Unicom have made their plans for IPv6 transition, not trial, but commercial use, and there will be a total of 30 cities in China supporting commercial IPv6 services. Besides, half IDCs will support IPv6 and over one thousand colleagues will provide complete IPv6 networks.

I think all these indicates a positive sign that IPv6 development has ushered its turning point after 10 years’ hard cultivation.

With our continuous effort, I believe the commercial IPv6 network will never be just a stratagem on paper.”
